About us
The Ladder Group is a voice/social group especially for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) for ages 11 up to 25 years. We meet regularly to share our experiences and to put forward our voice to the decision makers whilst also enjoying group activities and making new friends. We are a diverse group of young people with a range of additional needs who champion the needs of young people with SEND. We are always looking for new members and we enjoy watching young people gain confidence and find new friends. Members of the Ladder Group also attend the Voice of SEND Young People meetings.

The Voice of SEND Young People are a group of young people with SEND whose aim it is to change SEND education in Doncaster for the better. We work alongside Doncaster Council, Doncaster Parents Voice and other partners to make these changes.

The Voice of SEND Young People Meetings are for young people aged 12-25 years. Young people are welcome to bring a trusted adult, parent/carer or chaperone to the meetings.​

Where are these meetings held?
These sessions are held at Doncaster Carers Centre, 2 Regent Terrace, Doncaster, DN1 2EE

How long are the meetings?
These sessions are an hour long ​

Is booking required for the meetings?
We do need you to let us know if you are attending, if you could drop us an email at dpvevents@doncastercarers.org.uk and let us if anyone will be coming with you​​

Do I need to speak at these meetings?
We’re very flexible, and if you don’t feel comfortable speaking during these meetings, you’re welcome to share your thoughts in writing. Alternatively, your parent, carer, or chaperone can speak on your behalf. You can share your thoughts in any way this is comfortable for you.

Do you have any fidgets/sensory items that I can use during the meetings?
Yes, we do! At every meeting, we make sure to provide fidget toys and accessories that young people can use whenever they need them
