This is a relaxed and informal well-being themed session featuring various games and activities designed to support social interaction and communication.  This session will explore the topic Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)  from the perspective of an adult, and how to create a successful low demand lifestyle.

In this session we will:

• Explore myths and facts around autism

• Explore what autism is and what this means for your child

• Explore characteristics and traits of autism

• Have the opportunity to  share your experiences

In this workshop we will:

​

• Explore the meaning of social communication, social interaction and social imagination

• Understand the differences your child may experience in each area

• Build a strategy bank to support you in managing your child’s differences

These are a programme of weekly 1 hour sessions designed to support parents and carers.  The programme offers practical guidance and deeper understanding for parent/carers they navigate their autism journey. Each session will provide valuable insights and the weekly sessions will focus on the following areas:

14th November 2025 - Part 2 - Navigating Distressed Behaviours  
21st November 2025 -  Part 3 - Navigating Meltdowns/Shutdowns
28th November 2025 - Part 4 - Navigating Masking
5th December 2025 - Part 5 - Navigating Puberty
12th December 2025 - Part 6 - Navigating Autistic Burnout

A workshop for parents/carers who will learn about:

• The statutory laws around SEND 

• The different levels of support available in schools 

• How to access support if your child needs more support 

• What the Local Offer, and the school offer is 

• The role of the ASCETS Team and the role of Educational Psychologists
